I Can’t Believe that… The Bible Is Reliable
Written By Nathan Gelsinger
- What is one of your favorite books and why?
- Watch this video with your group
- https://www.exploregod.com/videos/session-6-is-the-bible-reliable
- What are a few of the various sources of truth that people consider as “guides” for their life?
- If someone asked you to describe the story of the Bible, what would you say?
- How relevant is the Bible to your everyday life?
- What does this actually look like in your life each day?
- Watch “The Bible As Evidence” video from Explore God together.
- If the bible were to be a book written by God, what would you expect to find in it?
- The video outlines three areas – Archeology, unchanging over time, and fulfilled prophecy. Which is most important to your confidence in scripture?
- Share a story from your life where scripture had a profound impact on you. Maybe you received comfort, or direction, or insight. Practice sharing this story with your group and limit yourself to 30-45 seconds. You may have to practice it a couple times to get it within that 30-45 second range.
- Prayer Time
- Let’s pray today by sharing a scripture together. Read Philippians 1:9-11 together
- And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
- Pray for each other to have increased knowledge and insight, increased discernment, purity, and to be more filled with righteousness.
- Pray also for the opportunity to share that story (question #6) with someone.
- Let’s pray today by sharing a scripture together. Read Philippians 1:9-11 together
