Community & Discipleship Ministry
We have many ministries that serve those who attend our church. These ministries also provide ways for you to be part of serving others. Some of these ministries are the college, young professionals, small groups, men, care & support and others.
When God stirs hearts and changes weekend routines to bring people to Venture, we want them to have an amazing visit to our campus. It all begins with YOU! Whether parking, welcoming, ushering, the Coffeehouse or other Guest Experience teams, you'll make a huge difference in the lives of guests.
Online Campus Experience
We are taking Venture's services globally through our online streaming ministry, and are building a volunteer team that will manage the equipment that broadcasts services live. You don't have to be tech savvy or a digital native for this ministry, as complete training and mentoring is mandatory. Join us and help take Venture global.
Do you have a knack for images or words, or looking for a way to serve from home or during the week? We have opportunities in the areas of photography, social media, bulletin stuffing, and even graphic design and video production.
There are opportunities for people in the areas of lighting, live video direction, camera operators, screen graphics, stage management and audio engineering. No experience required; we'll train you!
Worship Band and Vocals
Are you an experienced musician who wants to use your gifts and talents to serve God by serving on Venture's Worship Team? We are looking for musician who play all types of instruments, including guitars, drums, keyboard/piano, violins, cellos, flutes, harmonicas, etc.
We have opportunities for people with web development experience, mobile app development, IT and network support experience.
Serve during the weekend services and keep our children safe with our security team, or provide first response support with our medical team. You can also help prepare the church for meetings, events, weekend services; If you are in the trades or are handy and have time, you can use those skills to help repair, enhance, and maintain the facilities and campus.
General office assistance opportunities are available on an ongoing basis in most areas of ministry. Functions include data entry, filing, copying, and printing.

Foster the Bay is a coalition of Bay Area churches committed to providing a loving home for every child in the foster system. Venture aims to raise up at least one foster family - including four support families from the church community to help them in caring for these children.
Volunteer to support foster children and foster parents by caring for children while parents attend meetings, volunteer at a summer camp, start a backpack drive, lead a parent’s night out, become a prayer partner, and more.
Volunteers are Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) who are matched with dependent children to ensure that the needs and best interests of foster children in the program are met. They will also serve as friends and mentors.
Support youth who age out of foster care or are soon to age out. Target young adults who desire a college education or a certificate program. Volunteers would guide, mentor and support them through their path to college.
Feeding and caring of San Jose’s homeless population. Events every month providing food, care, haircuts, job search training and prayers. Venture supports it with funds and a very active volunteer group.
Serve the homeless in the San Francisco’s Tenderloin district. This includes feeding the hungry, provide clothing, educating the children, caring and planting a church to feed their soul. Volunteer or go on a short term mission trip.
Provides meals, shelter, recovery programs, community outreach, learning centers, medical and dental programs, and training.You can volunteer in community services, the kitchen, learning center, women’s ministries, drivers, and more.
An outreach ministry at a low-income apartment complex near Venture. The ministry aims to respond to the physical and spiritual needs of the Arbor community. There are opportunities to assist, teach, support the Thursday Kids Club program as well as to mentor middle and high school youth. Volunteers can serve regularly or for special projects and holiday events.
Distribute food to the needy around the community. They have individual and group volunteer opportunities for sorting food at their distribution centers, or distributing food at many locations around the bay.
Support, educate, pray and help those who are facing pregnancy decisions. Opportunities for English, Spanish, and other language speakers. Volunteer mentor, educator, advocate, facilitator, as part of a prayer team or medical team and more.
Ministries include low income family assistance, senior care, overnight shelters, after school kids programs, emergency disaster and adult rehabilitation services. Volunteer in preparing food boxes, helping in the kitchen, decorating the senior center and more.
A tutoring and mentoring program for disadvantaged middle school students. Volunteer to tutor students, be a financial literacy mentor, host a Career Day, be an afterschool program facilitator, participate in a STEM Challenge and chat and many more.
SVYL builds bridges & authentic friendship with youth in Middle and High School, sharing what it means to have a relationship with Christ. Volunteers give their time leading clubs, participating in activities and taking kids to camp. Venture encourages volunteering at the local High Schools (Leland and Pioneer H.S. Young Life Clubs).
A Christian ministry serving the needs of youth with physical and developmental disabilities. We believe that young people with disabilities have the right to experience all of life’s opportunities and to explore a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Volunteer to be a leader, mentor, driver, or event worker.
Every year students from all around the world come to study at universities in the San Francisco Bay Area. California has students from China, India, the Middle East and other countries will never step foot in the home of an American family. Volunteer at the schools or host them at your home!
Paceline Cycling provides a means to develop cycling skills as well as challenge veteran riders. Our goal: to build Christian cycling community who can connect & also be on mission together. We also serve at Cycling Community events. Join the CORE team, support outreach events or provide encouragement & prayer.
Bay Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministers to these men and women through Bible studies, staff contacts, prayer support, discipleship and mentoring, Behind the Bench (a program for coaches wives), resources, outreach events, national and local conventions, conferences and retreats. Ways to volunteer is to sign up to help at their youth camps.
Venture Runners welcomes all people who want to participate in doing good for a cause by exercising or volunteering to encourage or serving water, etc. at races. We also, have non-race activities like group training with devotions and prayer walks & runs.
Kid’s Christian Soccer League Christian Athletic Association is committed to teaching and playing the game of soccer in a Godly way, and as such we train our athletes to model Christ. We are seeking volunteers to coach, referee and administer this league.
Venture Justice Ministry exists to make a difference for the victims of human trafficking in Bay Area. We are motivated by God's heart for justice (Isaiah 58:6-7) and compassion. We provide awareness & prayer events focused on prevention, and intervention. Join us & support justice related efforts.
LOVE NEVER FAILS is a justice ministry focusing on prevention, restoration, education & protection of those involved or at risk for sex trafficking. Opportunities are rescuing victims, abuse intervention, counseling and mentoring.
The Bay Area Anti-Trafficking Coalition works to equip individuals, empower communities and engage our community in the best practices to sustain in the fight against human trafficking in the San Francisco Bay Area. Opportunities to support events and educate.

God Talk takes place at kiosk at a local mall the goal to catch the attention of the shoppers and share the good news of Jesus Christ. Gold Talk is held strategically twice a year July (Back to School shopping season) and the month prior to Easter. Training is provided and there are multiple opportunities to serve at the God Talk booth.
Joni and Friends works together with local churches to become irresistible churches welcoming those who face the daily challenges of life with a disability. There are a number of ways to be involved. Volunteer at one of the summer Family Retreats, serve at a monthly respite event, or help with Night to Shine, a prom for youth with disabilities.
Beautiful Day is an annual all-church community "extreme-makeover" service project. Venture partners with local churches and community neighbors to make Beautiful Day a transformative experience. Projects range from school & church renovations, to helping elderly or infirmed neighbors. Join the planning team or volunteer for the project.
Kids Club is an after school program in elementary schools designed to teach positive life skills to children through games, music and Bible discussions. The clubs are open to all students in the school. Clubs meet once a week for an hour and a half on elementary school campuses. Kids Clubs have successfully served in the public schools for the past fifteen years. Venture volunteers are needed to serve as small group leaders and in other club support roles, in many neighborhoods, and at the Venture sponsored club at Guadalupe School (Fridays) near Venture or at Lietz Elementary (Wednesdays) also near Venture.
